Zookeeper Group Training
Why are kids so different? And how to make sure their needs are met?
Join us for some Group Zookeeper Training in July 2022
Parenting should be enjoyable and fun. Your family is the most important people in your life. Your kids will be young only once.
If only kids came with manuals, then you would be able to know …
- why your kids respond differently to your parenting
- why you jell better with one child than the other
- why they know exactly what buttons to push when you’re having a bad day!
The truth is you already have everything you need. The only element missing is an understanding of the different temperaments in your home.
How does it work?
In this 7-week interactive online group course,
we will explore the answers together.
Each week there will be:
- a pre-recorded video to explain the topic
- a live 60-minute Zoom-session for discussion and questions.
The Zoom-sessions will be recorded, and available afterwards, because, you know, life happens…
Outline of the course
- Session 1: Parenthood – Unpacking your own experience
- Session 2: Characteristics of Monkeys and Lions
- Session 3: Characteristics of Meerkats and Koalas
- Session 4: Parenting the Monkeys and Lions
- Session 5: Parenting the Meerkats and Koalas
- Session 6: Parenting from your own temperament
- Session 7: Conclusion
Each session will have downloadable worksheets for those who prefer to take notes.
Added bonus: the option to join a closed Facebook group. I will be available in the group for any questions arising in between sessions. And then the added opportunity of support from the other amazing mums on the same journey as you.
We need all types of people to make the world an interesting and functional place.
However, if we know and understand not only our own temperament, but our family members’ temperaments too, we will have so much more compassion and understanding for their needs and behaviour. This way we as individuals, as well as our families can grow stronger and stronger to make the world a better place.
Why do people not want to do a parenting course?
To be honest, I don’t know.
I mean, we are quite happy to do professional development to advance our careers. And many companies expect us to keep up with training and development as trends might change and new technology or laws come into effect.
And yes, I completely agree that professional development is a good idea. I want my hairdresser to know what she is doing! I want my kids’ teachers to be up to date with the latest curriculum requirements. I want my GP to know about the latest treatments and available medications. I want the engineer to design that bridge to the latest safety specifications.
But yet, we often parent on-the-fly …
We can raise the next generation without stopping to think about it, without planning or training.
Is it because we don’t want to be told what to do? Or is it because we fear judgement and criticism? Maybe someone will think there is something wrong with my family? Or it is just too much effort? Or maybe, just maybe, we don’t want to delve too deep into those unresolved issues from our own childhoods?
Parenting courses not only made me a better parent, but also a better person in general, as it is all about relationships and communication.
This program is excellent! Well thought out and organised to easily identify your child’s dominant temperament and help you to parent with this in mind. Highly recommended.
Riki has a wealth of knowledge about parenting and the different temperament types. Despite being miles apart, I learned so much from her during the program and I still do now (even though we’re on different continents)!
But what are all the amazing benefits if we decide to invest in our parenting?
- Understanding the developmental stage your child is in and what to expect.
- Improved communication between family members
- Increased confidence as a parent to raise confident children
- Connecting with other parents to support and learn more.
- Understanding the dynamics of the different temperaments in your home.
- Breaking unhealthy generational cycles and change the legacy of your family.
- Developing a long-term parenting strategy.
Looking at this list, the benefits are far greater than any discomfort or monetary outlay that might keep you from doing a parenting course.
Imagine changing your family’s legacy forever!

A parenting collective of my experience and research (nearly)15 years as a parent, but 20 years on the journey. A deeper understanding that we can’t change who we are, but we can fine-tune and polish our temperaments to be content, respectful, responsible, reliable, mature, loving and caring people, making the world a better place for those around us.
Whatever stage you are in your parenting journey, I can help with understanding your child’s dominant temperament and how:
- it impacts how your children think, feel and react
- it impacts their strengths and weaknesses
- how they communicate
Whether you’re trying to reach your child’s heart or trying to show them how much you love them, you’re about to get expert help to understand your whole family and how that impacts the dynamics in your home.
I want it now
Not willing to wait?
I understand that full well, I’m not known for my patience either. If I get excited about something, I want the information and I want it NOW!
My Personal Zookeeper Training is exclusive one-on-one coaching and available at your own pace.
I’m short on time
Your child is growing up, no matter what you do, and your window of influence is getting smaller as they get bigger.
That’s why you need to connect with your child now, while you still can, and guide them to accept themselves for who they are and to work with their own strengths and weaknesses, by understanding their own temperaments.
I’m not a group hugger
That’s OK. Many parents don’t want to openly discuss their children, parenting styles and especially their challenges in an open forum.
But they still want to invest in their parenting. My ‘Personal Zookeeper Training’ provides exclusive access to me to pick my brain in a structured way on all you need to know about childhood temperaments.
I think I prefer some exclusive one-on-one Zookeeper training.
I feel that Riki’s parenting coaching has strengthened my bond with my kids. I don’t have to fight the same battles with them over and over and as a result we all enjoy each other more. She had advice for issues I was struggling with at the time, but also prepared me for future parenting decisions. I am forever grateful for her help.
Riki is a wonderful woman and passionate about sharing her knowledge and ideas – I have learned so much from her through the years. Our lives have been enriched with the parenting courses she hosted and the advice, as being a mum herself, was truly valuable. Coming from another country and being able to get the support through parenting courses and Riki herself has helped our family grow in such a positive way.
What an insightful program! Riki presents it in easy to understand terms (which I need, and then some!), with on point suggestions and options on how to better understand your children. I am a fan, I am a major fan. Thank you Riki for taking us through it and I look forward to any more courses in the future!!

What is a temperament?
A temperament is the innate traits you are born with. And you can’t change that. This will always determine certain traits in a person, e.g. extrovert or introvert, prefers tasks over people or people over tasks, an optimistic or pessimistic worldview, focused on details or rather the big picture, just to name a few.
As we grow up, we are influenced by our experiences, culture and upbringing, but our temperament will often determine how we respond behaviourally and emotionally towards other people and events.
Isn't there already a lot of parenting courses available online?
Yes, but this parenting course is unique, as it is based on the different temperaments, a psychology approach that has been around for 2,500 years.
Can I do this course even though I'm not a parent?
This course is also the perfect solution to understand your spouse or partner, extended family members (including your mother-in-law), friends, colleagues, teachers, sport coaches and even your favourite coffee barista.
Because we’re all humans. We all have a natural, ingrained temperament and once you understand how to recognise these in your children, you can use the same skills for everyone else in your life.
Come join other like-minded parents to learn more about temperaments. This parenting course is full of fun and laughter, properly researched facts, practical parenting tips and tools, homework, and sometimes calling a spade a spade.
